Title: Will you be the next Social Entrepreneur?

Speaker: Ben Quiñones (Chairman CSRSME ASIA)

            This talk entitled Will you be the next Social Entrepreneur? Was conducted last Friday, March 27, 2009 at our ETHICS class; this seminar thought us a lot of things about being entrepreneur specifically how to be a social entrepreneur. This seminar I may say was very informative for all of us, this also serves as an eye opener for all, if we were going to pursue being entrepreneur someday or not. To this talk I’ve learned that the greatest adventure of a lifetime is learning the journey. This also thought us what is really entrepreneur, and so according to sir Ben entrepreneur is a person who creates something new and something different, he also change or transmute values, he drastically upgrades yield from resources and creates new market and new customers.

            According also to Sir Ben there are two types of entrepreneurs according to motivation, one is entrepreneur who is centered into profit and another thing is socially responsible entrepreneur or social entrepreneur. He also thought us about the mental model which states that it is the assumptions, argued theory and opinions of others about a certain things. This is also our perception to the world; sometimes serves as walls. I’ve learned also why most people become imprisoned by mental models, this is because people don’t know that they have that kind of thinking and another thing is that they have learning disabilities which means it is the inability to learn because we failed to acquire the skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, reasoning and logical skills. Now if wee do not learn the disabilities, if we do not learn learning disabilities we cannot motivate people.
